    Review comments
The two papers by Dr. Takuya Ishihara and Dr. Masakazu Ishihara conduct critical contributions in theory and application of statistics/data science, respectively, and we suggest to recommend both of the two for the 2nd Hosoya prize recipients.

Dr. Takuya Ishihara tries identification and estimation in non-separable panel data models. He derives the new identification condition that does not require the existence of stayers, i.e., units with the same regressor values in two time points, and proposes non-parametric as well parametric estimation under the identification condition. The paper summarizes the methods with the well-established asymptotic theories in a solid way, and the contributions in econometrics field are judged to be suitable for the prize.

Dr. Masakazu Ishihara employs a neurophysiological approach to better understand marketing phenomena. Using real sales dataset, he attempts to show that a measure by the neurophysiological approach works more effectively in advertising than traditional measure of marketing. The use of neurophysiological approach in marketing develops a pioneering and innovative data scientific approach in social sciences, which suits one of the aims of the prize to support applied work in broad areas of social sciences. .
