We have to develop and spread clean energy system so that we could decrease environmental pressure and protect environments effectively. For the purpose, it is necessary to plan environment polices, based on extensive and profound knowledge about the latest technology developments and on careful investigations into social and economic institutions, market systems and industrial structures of the regions concerned. Besides it is very important that we consider the application of CDM (Clean Development Mechanism, COP3), if we want to transfer advanced technologies from the advanced countries to the developing countries.

Main research topics of this program are

• Inquires into environment conditions in Shanxi province in China and development of coking and iron-making industries with clean energy supply system in this district
• Inquires into technological and social economic conditions concerned with development of clean energy and the recycling of resources system in the Tohoku district
• Planning of CDM which aims at formation of international consensus and reduction of trade cost.
